Pedro Pascal Leads Marvel’s Fantastic Four Reboot, From Narcos Star to “Mr. Fantastic”

Marvel Studios finally put months’ worth of rumors and conjecture to rest on Valentine’s Day when they unveiled the cast of their upcoming “The Fantastic Four” reboot.

Marvel’s first family is officially joining the upcoming superhero blockbuster as Pedro Pascal (as Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (as Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (as Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (as The Thing).

Since last summer, credible internet rumors have linked those four actors to the project.

Marvel released a vintage poster, harkening back to the Fantastic Four’s 1961 comic book debut, to reveal its cast.

It is currently unknown if the movie will function as a period piece, which would make it unique within the official Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Fantastic Four reboot will be helmed by Matt Shakman, the director of “WandaVision” for Marvel. The movie will now be released on July 25, 2025, which was originally planned for “Thunderbolts.”

Marvel moved the release date of that superhero team-up, which will star David Harbour and Florence Pugh, to May 2, 2025, the day that “The Fantastic Four” was originally scheduled to release.

Over the past 20 years, there have been several “Fantastic Four” films, including the infamous flop from 2015 starring Miles Teller as Reed, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny, Kate Mara as Sue, and Jamie Bell as Ben.

However, in the current Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline, this will be the first “Fantastic Four” movie.

The Fantastic Casting

Pascal—one of Hollywood’s most sought-after actors—will likely get in shape to play Richards.

Quinn rose to fame on Season 4 of “Stranger Things” as the cunning and tragic Eddie Munson, following a string of outstanding performances on British television.

Additionally, Moss-Bachrach recently took home an Emmy for his work on FX’s “The Bear,” where he played Richard “Richie” Jerimovich.

Before receiving an Oscar nomination for her work in 2020’s “Pieces of a Woman,” Kirby first gained notoriety as Princess Margaret in “The Crown.” Kirby has previously hinted that she would like to play the invisible woman.

Actor José Pedro Balmaceda Pascal was born in Chile and moved to the United States.

Pascal gained recognition for his portrayals of Oberyn Martell in the fourth season of HBO’s fantasy series Game of Thrones (2014) and Javier Peña in the Netflix crime series Narcos (2015–2017), following nearly two decades of small roles in movies and television.
