Property Brothers, Temptations and Triumphs in Home Hunting

The best thing you can do to maximize your chances of success when house hunting is to remove emotion from the picture.

HGTV stars Drew and Jonathan Scott, popularly known as the Property Brothers, claim as much. The pair asserts that emotion stands in the way of wise decision-making.

Although buyers may come into the process knowing exactly what they want, they may quickly put those aside when they fall in love with a house that looks sleek or has an enormous closet.

He suggests that the next time you visit a possible new home, you take a companion.

If you let them know what you are looking for, they can serve as a helpful backup should a standout feature, like a walk-in closet, temporarily convince you otherwise.

When you are touring a property, Jonathan suggests taking a piece of paper and writing down what you like and do not like. Having the advantages and disadvantages outlined can prevent you from making a snap judgment.

Buyers should seek out properties where the seller claims to have built or renovated them themselves, says Drew. He advises checking city permits to make sure no unauthorized changes were made if you come across something like this.

Love and Decision-Making with the Scott Brothers

Drew Scott and his three family members are enjoying Thanksgiving! The 45-year-old Property Brothers star and his spouse, Linda Phan, posted pictures of their son Parker during Thanksgiving dinner.

Scott is seen kissing Linda in one picture and holding up Parker, age one, who is wearing cute pajamas with a fruit motif in another.

Their dessert spread, which included macarons, Yorkshire pudding, and at least three different pies, was displayed in the last picture. Jonathan Scott is a strong proponent of being in the “right place at the right time.”

Along with his brother Drew, the Property Brothers star made an appearance on Today with Hoda and Jenna. Regarding his relationship with fiancée Zooey Deschanel, Jonathan was candid.

Following his congratulations to Jonathan on his engagement, Kotb talked about an intimate moment they had together behind the scenes. Jonathan’s reply touched on his philosophy of fate.

Drew then added a joke about the ABC program that had a bachelor in his seventies as a star.

Regarding wedding preparations, Bush Hager inquired as to whether Drew was hosting a bachelor celebration in honor of his brother’s impending marriage. “You ought to be!” Jonathan made a joke.

During a family vacation to Scotland in August, Scott proposed to his girlfriend after four years of courtship. Deschanel’s two kids, son Charlie, 6, and daughter Elsie, 8, were involved in the memorable occasion.

With everyone ecstatic, Deschanel naturally said, “Yes!”
