Porsha Williams’ Husband Simon Guobadia Ignores Deportation Threat, Fuels Reality TV Speculation

As the drama on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” escalates, Simon Guobadia, the spouse of Porsha Williams, is not just stirring things up—he is preparing a whole feast of controversy!

Guobadia’s carefree Instagram post has fans questioning whether he is the real master of staying composed in the face of difficulty, despite deportation disputes and fraud accusations.

Simon Guobadia is currently appealing his denial of permanent residency in the United States owing to a criminal record, according to court documents previously reported.

Not long after Williams revealed she would be returning to the reality show after a three-year break, the announcement was made in response to a startling array of accusations made against Guobadia.

The businessman from Nigeria allegedly overstayed his six-month visitor’s visa in 1982 and left the country, returning to Nigeria in 1985.

Recent reports state that after Guobadia wed Karron English, his first wife, he was refused citizenship. In 1986, he entered the country again for a six-month stay, but he did not leave when his visa ran out.

Reportedly, following his arrest in 1987, he entered a guilty plea to felonies related to bank and credit card fraud.

Guobadia is accused of fabricating information on his temporary resident pass-through documents between 1988 and 1991 and failing to disclose his criminal history on immigration paperwork.

In addition, he was allegedly arrested for credit card fraud and unlawful use of a vehicle, which led to his deportation in 1992.

Guobadia did, however, receive a green card after his 1988 application was accepted. According to court records, he applied for citizenship once more when he returned to the country in 2016.

However, his application was turned down because “his temporary resident status was unlawfully granted.”

Guobadia’s application was denied again in 2020 and 2022. He filed a complaint against the decision in 2023, but it was denied in early 2024.

Despite his immigration problems, Guobadia appeared unconcerned about his potential deportation in an Instagram post on February 20. Guobadia was shown in the post sitting in a golf cart, smoking a cigar.

One fan replied, “If unbothered was a person! Great sense of humor.”

Porsha and Simon married in 2022, after Williams’ divorce from her “RHOA” co-star, Falynn Guobadia. The couple’s relationship sparked a scandal that played out on the reality show, with many people speculating about when he and Porsha started dating.

It’s unclear if the 42-year-old knew about her husband’s history before their nuptials. But fans are anticipating that season 16 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” will be interesting given Guobadia’s immigration issues.
