Neve Adrianne Campbell (born October 3, 1973) is a Canadian actress known for her work in the drama and horror genres.

Neve Campbell’s Possible Return to her iconic role as ‘Sidney’ in Scream 7

Neve Campbell’s potential return to the Scream franchise for “Scream 7” has been the subject of much speculation and controversy.

Fans were initially excited at the prospect of seeing Campbell reprise her iconic role as Sidney Prescott after missing seeing her in Scream 6.

The iconic Scream star was there from the very beginning, starring in the first film as Sidney Prescott and returning for every installment except Scream 6, and had a complete arc from initially being the victim to growing into a heroine by personally confronting each killer.

Although Campbell chose not to return to Scream 6 due to a fee dispute, it’s now more likely than ever that the studio would be willing to stump up the cash to get her back after two major cast exit from Scream 7.

According to Variety, the filmmakers are weighing up options following the high-profile exit of Scream 6 leads Jenna Ortega exiting the franchise reportedly due to scheduling conflict with her Netflix hit ‘Wednesday’ and Melissa Barrera being ousted from the sequel by Spyglass Media Group following recent social media posts about the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Variety reports that the franchise is in a “creative conundrum” and may be considering casting former franchise favorites Neve Campbell, Patrick Dempsey, and Courtney Cox in new roles, as both leads have left the project.

As per the report, scriptwriters James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, who wrote the previous two installments of the Scream franchise, will “work on a fresh draft to present to filmmakers.”

As of now, it is unclear whether Campbell will ultimately return for “Scream 7.” Campbell has allegedly received a fresh offer from the studio, but it is unclear if the actress will accept it.

It will be interesting to see how the studio intends to proceed without Campbell if she does not make a comeback. Sidney Prescott has always been the focal point of the franchise, and it is hard to see how they could go on without her.
