Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Desire for a Ghost Whisperer Revival – Exploring Her Return and Show’s Cancellation

American actress and singer Jennifer Love Hewitt was born on February 21, 1979. Before joining the cast of the Disney Channel series Kids Incorporated (1989–1991), Hewitt started her career as a young actress and singer, making appearances in national television commercials.

After being cast as Sarah Reeves Merrin on the hit Fox series Party of Five (1995–1999), Hewitt became a teenage idol.

She was first cast for a nine-episode arc in season two, but because of the positive response from both producers and viewers, she was made a series regular and remained in the role until the sixth and final season of the show.

Amy Lippman, a co-creator, once said of her: “She was an insane professional. You didn’t need to question whether or not she would be able to muster up some courage to come here or even cry.

She was not rushing to her trailer to play with a toy poodle or smoke a cigarette in between takes. Despite this, Jennifer was reading material and trying to plot her career.”.

In June 2013, Hewitt made public her engagement to co-star Brian Hallisay and the news of her upcoming first child. In 2013, Hewitt and Hallisay tied the knot on November 20.

In this post, we will discuss whether Jennifer will do the Ghost Whisperer Reboot?

Whether Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ghost Whisperer, will return for the revival?

Jennifer Love Hewitt, star of Ghost Whisperer, discusses whether or not she would return for a revival.

From 2005 to 2010, Hewitt portrayed Melinda Gordon in the supernatural drama on CBS, which was created by John Gray.

The movie Ghost Whisperer featured David Conrad, Camryn Manheim, Jay Mohr, Christoph Sanders, Jamie Kennedy, and Aisha Tyler in the story of Melina and how her life is changed by her ability to see and communicate with ghosts.

When asked which television revival she would like to be a part of, the veteran actor happily reflected on her time as Melina during an interview with Michael Rosenbaum on Inside of You. She shared that she would be interested in a revival of Ghost Whisperer.

In response, Hewitt expresses her excitement and says that Melina Gordon may be her all-time favorite role.

I would do Ghost Whisperer, she continued. One of my favorite jobs was that one. Without a doubt, Melinda Gordon ranks among my all-time favorite characters I have ever portrayed. Taking on the task would be a delight.

Reason for Ghost Whisperer cancellation

Ghost Whisperer was canceled in May 2010 for some reasons—increasing costs associated with an established series and a general viewership decline.

Over 11 million people watched the premiere of the show. The last season saw a sharp decline in ratings, despite a spike in later years. 6.8 million people watched the most recent episode, falling short of the 8 million viewers who watched it when the season first began.

There was talk on ABC that Ghost Whisperer season 6 might be saved. The network and CBS Studios collaborated on the supernatural series, but those aspirations were soon dashed.

Hewitt has maintained her optimism over the years about returning to her role as Melinda. She even revealed her one requirement for the revival: she would prefer to continue playing the title whisperer rather than handing the mantle to someone else.

Given Hewitt’s film and television experience, her willingness to come back is noteworthy.

Rosenbaum hinted that the cast member of I Know What You Did Last Summer has had guest appearances and stints on Criminal Minds, Party of Five, and 9-1-1.

Hewitt still has fond memories of Ghost Whisperer and plans to return to the series despite having such a full resume.
