We have watched many movies over the years but found some of the best movies from 1980–1995. We saw many changes in Hollywood and there were so many films that were hit. Hollywood still never fails to give us some of the best movies but the movies that were released in 1980–1995 had a charm because of which we never forget them and whenever we get the chance to watch them again, we do it and have the same feeling as when we watched it for the first time.
The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
If you love Star Wars, you will love this movie too. This is the second installment in the Star Wars trilogy and is one of the best among them. When it was released, it took over audiences’ minds, and the theater used to be a houseful. The story follows as they show the Rebel Alliance’s struggle against the Empire, with Luke Skywalker training under Yoda to become a Jedi.
The Quick and the Dead (1995)
If you have loved Western movies, then this one is for you. Here we see a man with no name and surprisingly, that’s not a man. The man with no name was actually a woman who rode to a town called Redemption to take revenge on the boss who killed her father. The story was interesting and kept everyone hooked.
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
We see Indiana Jones for the first time and let’s not lie, Indiana Jones instantly made its way to our hearts. In Raiders of the Lost Ark, we see an archaeologist, Indiana Jones, who is on his way to find the Ark of the Covenant and he does not want the Nazis to find it before him. This movie gave us some good action scenes and became one of the best action-adventure movies.
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial became a hit with its release. Well, the movie is worth the hype and deserves all the appreciation. We see a young boy befriending an alien stranded on Earth but he helps that alien find a way back home. However, that young boy was hiding the alien from the government officials so it was fun and interesting to watch the movie. It was a hit family movie in 1982.
Blade Runner (1982)
Blade Runner is yet another sci-fi movie that made fans love the concept of the movie. Well, we see a dystopian future where a blade runner is handed the task of hunting down bioengineered beings known as replicants. Although the film is fascinating and people have loved it, was an initial disappointment at the box office. But you know how people gradually realize the worth of a good film, just like Blade Runner got the praise it deserved.
Ghostbusters (1984)
Ghostbusters was the best combination of comedy and horror. We see a group of scientists who start a ghost-catching business in New York City. Well, the situation turns pretty horrifying yet the eccentric scientists have the best comic timing to make the movie light and fun. We loved watching and it became one of the best movies, with sequels, an animated series, and a reboot.
Unforgiven (1992)
You know, Unforgiven is one of the best movies to watch on a weekend, and enjoy the action and Western vibe in the movie. We see Clint Eastwood in one of his best roles. In Unforgiven, he played the role of an old outlaw named William Munny, who is a widower and has two kids. He was once well-known and the best gunfighter, but he has been retired. However, he gets an offer to load back his gun because it’s about justice.
The Terminator (1984)
Who hasn’t heard of The Terminator? Because this movie was popular back in 1984 but has also made its name in recent years. The story revolves around killing and protecting a future resistance leader’s mother. There is an assassin sent in the past from the future to kill the mother and a protector from the future to protect her. There is no doubt that this film has made Arnold Schwarzenegger a major action star.
Back to the Future (1985)
If you love light and adventurous time travel films, then this is for you. Back to the Future is an interesting movie where a teenager accidentally travels to time. He is now in the 1950s and is trying to make sure that his parents meet because otherwise, he will have no future. So, the movie revolves around the teenager making his parents fall in love to get them to have him in the future. The movie was fun and one of the most beloved movies of 1985 with the best time travel story.
Top Gun (1986)
Top Gun is one of the perfect and best movies of the 80s. We see a hotshot pilot named Maverick who is trying his best to top in a naval flight school. However, he is also stuck in his personal and professional life dealings, which has led to a lot of drama. Top Gun became popular in a short time and we cannot deny that fashion, music, military recruitment, and everything else touched audiences’ hearts.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)
This is one of the best and most beloved movies of ours. We cannot deny Who Framed Roger Rabbit made us once again interested in the world of cartoons. Well, it’s not the classic cartoon but it’s a live-action film where we see cartoons and humans coexist. The film revolves around a guy who is a private detective who is helping clear the name of the animated star, Roger Rabbit because the star is accused of murder.
Batman (1989)
Who doesn’t love a good superhero movie? And not loving Batman is impossible. We saw the best fight-off between Batman and the Joker and we cannot deny how much we loved this movie. The dark and brooding Bruce Wayne fights crime in Gotham City as Batman and his dark personality changed our entire perspective on superhero genre movies.
Jurassic Park (1993)
It’s impossible that you haven’t watched Jurassic Park yet but if you haven’t watched this thrilling and adventurous movie, you must watch it. You will see a Jurassic Park with cloned dinosaurs who will get out of control and start attacking visitors and everyone else in the park. This movie will give you goosebumps and will be a rollercoaster of emotions.
Schindler’s List (1993)
This is one of the most powerful and wonderful movies, which gives us hope that humanity is still alive. Schindler’s List is the true story of Oskar Schindler, a German businessman who helped save the lives of more than a thousand Polish Jews during the Holocaust. This movie is truly an inspiration in today’s world.
Forrest Gump (1994)
Forrest Gump was a box office hit and it even won an Oscar. We remember watching the film and it was a lighthearted romantic movie with plenty of drama yet wonderful to watch. We see a man with a low IQ who somehow influences many historical events just to find his one true love, Jenny.
