10 Sitcom Casts: Early Days vs. Final Seasons

Over the years, we have watched tons of sitcoms and some have just created magic. These sitcoms have helped us relax and get away from our day-to-day stress. However, sometimes we just reminisce about how some shows started and went on to be something different and how the cast and the characters grew with time. Some grew in their personal lives, while others grew in their professional lives but they did an amazing job in these sitcoms, which we will never forget.

Beginning with the iconic sitcom Friends, which was loved back in the 90s, it still gets a lot of love from every generation of audience. At the beginning of the show, we saw six characters, or we should say friends, Monica, Ross, Chandler, Rachel, Joey, and Phoebe, who were twenty-something and were making their way into careers, love, and friendships in NYC.

The end was tearful and heavy, as after getting married and adopting twins, Monica and Chandler moved to live their suburban lives, leaving behind the close-knit bond they created over the years. Ross and Rachel also rekindled their complicated relationship and stayed together and Phoebe, who always wanted a family, found one in Mike Hannigan as she married him. Joey remained single but was finally a successful actor.

Parks and Recreation – Starting

We saw Leslie Knope as an enthusiastic mid-level bureaucrat in the Parks Department in Pawnee, Indiana. So her work life included her quirky colleagues, Ron Swanson, Tom Haverford, Ann Perkins, and the naive Andy Dwyer, who worked as a team and gave us many hilarious scenes with perfect comic timing.

These characters grew into beautiful souls by the end of the sitcom. Leslie achieves the best in her career as she becomes a high-level government official. Ron remains the same but even better as a friend, while, to our disbelief, Andy matures and becomes a responsible person. Then we saw Tom become a successful entrepreneur while Ann and Chris moved away to start their beautiful little family, as they showed at the end of the sitcom.

We see no such growth in either of the characters. In fact., in the finale episode, Jerry and his friends go behind bars for their selfish behavior. It turns out to be a satirical ending where we learn sometimes we need to change ourselves for the better if we do not want to land in problems.

Like Jim being the prankster while Pam dreams of becoming an artist, Dwight, and Ryan are overly dedicated and ambitious.
