Amongst tons of sitcoms, only a few are able to make their stay on TV because not all sitcoms are worth the watch. Well, sitcoms like Friends and How I Met Your Mother have been popular all across the globe but not all sitcoms make a hype like them. However, we have sitcoms like Frasier that worked well and ran for 11 seasons. Frasier was no doubt a beloved sitcom that we loved to watch and enjoyed every moment of the show. But sadly, many actors from Frasier have passed away and we don’t know about it.
John Mahoney (Martin Crane)
We remember John Mahoney as Frasier’s most humble and down-to-earth ex-policeman father, Martin Crane. John Mahoney was perfect for this role, as his easygoing, breezy personality perfectly suited the role. However, unfortunately, John Mahoney passed away on February 4, 2018, at the age of 77.
David Ogden Stiers (Leland Barton)
David Ogden Stiers gave us numerous characters that we have loved over the years. He became popular for his role as Major Charles Emerson Winchester III on “MAS*H”. However, he also played Leland Barton on Frasier and he was a close friend of the Crane family. Sadly, we saw David Ogden Stiers die on March 3, 2018.
Bill Gratton (Leo)
Bill Gratton was a mature and sensible actor in Hollywood who did his best in every role he played. We saw Bill Gratton in Frasier as Martin Crane’s old buddy from his work life, Leo. Although he wasn’t there in every episode, in whatever episode he was there, he nailed the character, Leo, and was one of the best supportive friends to Martin. But sadly, Bill Gratton passed away on 23 June 2011 at 71 years.
Milton Berle (Himself)
Well, Milton Berle was once upon a time one of the most famous and beloved comedians, and he made many guest appearances on several shows just like he did in Frasier. As much as we loved him, there’s a bitter truth that Milton Berle is long gone and died on March 27, 2002, at 93.
Rene Auberjonois (Dr. William Tewksbury)
Rene Auberjonois made his career long before appearing in Frasier. He gave us many movies and shows that we still cannot forget. And when he guest starred in Frasier, it also became one of his best memories of him. Dr. William Tewksbury was Frasier’s Harvard professor and when they met, we saw the best of that episode. Unfortunately, Rene Auberjonois passed away on December 8, 2019.
Alice Playten (Bonnie)
We have seen Alice Playten in so many roles, nailing every character of hers just like the one in Frasier. We saw Alice Playten as Bonnie, who is Martin’s new love interest. They dated for a short while and then broke up. Now Alice Playten has passed away on June 25, 2011, at 63 but she has left an unforgettable impression in our minds.
Robert Prosky (Father Mike)
Robert Prosky was always a supporting actor but that doesn’t mean his value was less. In fact, he was one of the most beloved actors in Hollywood. We saw him in many roles, like in “Mrs. Doubtfire” and “Broadcast News.” Just like his role as Father Mike in Frasier, he has also become memorable. He was a fellow radio host at KACL. However, we lost Robert Prosky on December 8, 2008, at 77.
Patrick Macnee (Stephen Moon)
If you remember, we saw Patrick Macnee as Stephen Moon, who was Daphne’s father in Frasier. Just like his other roles and performances, he nailed it as Stephen Moon. He gave us many other unforgettable roles, like John Steed in the British TV series “The Avengers.” Sadly, we lost him on June 25, 2015, at 93.
John LaMotta (Duke)
Do you remember Duke from Frasier? Well, if you don’t, then you must remember that Martin always used to be down on beers, so where did he get beers? Well, it was Duke’s local bar where Martin used to go, hang out and drink beer. Duke is played by John LaMotta but unfortunately, John LaMotta recently passed away on January 29, 2024.
Conrad Bain (Dr. Ronald)
There is no doubt that Conrad Bain gave us some of the best roles and the best show. However, he made his name big with his popular character Mr. Drummond on the sitcom “Diff’rent Strokes.” Well, after that, his career skyrocketed and we saw him as Dr. Ronald, who was Frasier’s colleague in Frasier. Unfortunately, Conrad Bain died on January 14, 2103.
